Transformasi Lahan Kumuh menjadi Apotek Hidup Berbasis Ekoteologi di Desa Sumurjomblangbogo

Abstract

The problem of slum land being used as a waste dump remains an environmental challenge in rural areas, including in RT 23 of Sumurjomblangbogo Village, Bojong District, Pekalongan Regency. This condition encourages the need for environmental rehabilitation efforts that are not only oriented towards physical cleaning, but also towards sustainable land use. This article aims to describe the process of transforming slum land into an ecotheology-based living pharmacy through the Community Service Program (KKN) of K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid State Islamic University of Pekalongan. The method used is the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach with participatory principles, which emphasizes the utilization of local assets and active community involvement. The activity was carried out in October–December 2025 through the stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the activity show that the land previously polluted by waste was successfully revitalized into a clean, organized, and productive living pharmacy through the planting of family medicinal plants such as ginger, turmeric, galangal, galangal, and lemongrass. This program not only improves environmental quality but also increases community awareness, participation, and independence in environmental management and family health. The ecotheological approach strengthens the community's understanding of environmental management as part of their moral and social responsibility. Thus, transforming slum areas into ecotheologically based living pharmacies can be a practical, low-cost, and sustainable model for community service.
