JOURNAL TEMPLATE
Correction & Retraction
Journal Jumat Keagamaan is committed to upholding academic integrity, transparency, and the reliability of scholarly publications in the field of religious community engagement. Every published article must adhere to the principles of scientific honesty, publication ethics, and academic responsibility. To this end, the journal implements the following policies:
1. Correction
Corrections are issued when errors are discovered in a published article that can be rectified without requiring the retraction of the entire piece. Such errors may originate from the authors, editors, or the publication process itself.
Corrections may address errors in writing, information, data, tables, figures, author affiliations, or any other section requiring adjustment to ensure the accuracy of scientific information. Requests for corrections may be submitted by authors, editors, readers, or other parties who can provide relevant evidence.
Each correction request will be reviewed by the editors, taking into account the nature of the error, its impact on the article's content, and the available supporting evidence. If a correction is approved, the journal will publish a "correction notice" detailing the specific parts that have been corrected and the reasons for these changes. The corrected version of the article will be linked to the correction notice to maintain transparency in the publication record.
2. Retraction
Retractions are carried out when serious issues are identified that render the findings, conclusions, or overall integrity of an article unreliable. Retraction serves as a measure to uphold academic honesty and protect readers from relying on invalid scientific information.
Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
The discovery of data fabrication or falsification during the implementation or reporting of community engagement activities.
Instances of plagiarism or the use of another party's work without proper acknowledgment.
The discovery of manipulated data, figures, evaluation results, or information concerning the implementation of community engagement activities. Duplicate publication, or the publishing of articles that are substantially the same without appropriate disclosure and permission.
Serious violations of research or community service ethics, including the use of data, documentation, or personal information of partners without the necessary consent.
Discovery of unauthorized authorship or the misuse of an author’s identity, which significantly compromises the integrity of the publication.
The presence of fundamental errors that render the article’s primary results or conclusions unreliable.
Evidence of other breaches of publication ethics that substantially undermine the integrity of the article.
3. Correction and Retraction Procedures
The journal *Jumat Keagamaan* follows these procedures when addressing requests for corrections or allegations of misconduct that may lead to the retraction of an article:
Receipt of reports: The editor receives reports from authors, readers, reviewers, or other parties, accompanied by explanations and relevant supporting evidence.
Initial review: The editor examines the substance of the report to determine whether further investigation is required.
Clarification: The editor may request explanations, supporting documentation, or responses from the authors and other relevant parties, providing a reasonable opportunity for them to respond.
Evaluation and decision-making: The editor assesses the evidence objectively and determines a proportionate course of action—such as a correction, a retraction, or other measures appropriate to the severity of the issue.
Publication of a notice: If a correction or retraction is approved, the journal publishes an official notice explaining the reasons for and the scope of the action taken.
Maintenance of publication records: Retracted articles remain in the journal’s archives, clearly marked as retracted, unless legal obligations or specific circumstances necessitate a different approach. A link between the article and the retraction notice is maintained so that readers are informed of the publication’s status. 4. Transparency and Editorial Independence
Decisions regarding corrections or retractions are made by the editor based on available evidence, the severity of the issue, and the principles of procedural fairness. Authors will be given the opportunity to provide clarification. If necessary, the journal may seek input from reviewers, independent experts, or relevant institutions.
A request for retraction from an author does not automatically serve as the basis for retracting an article. The editor will conduct an evaluation to ensure that the decision made aligns with the interests of scientific integrity.
5. Impact on Authors
The correction or retraction of an article does not automatically imply that all authors have committed misconduct. The responsibility of each author is assessed based on the evidence, their contributions, and their level of involvement.
