Authorship Criteria

Authorship Criteria

Every listed author should satisfy all four of the following criteria:

  1. Make a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation.
  2. Draft the manuscript or critically review it for important intellectual content.
  3. Approve the final manuscript version intended for publication.
  4. Agree to be accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the work, including appropriate resolution of concerns.

Contributor Roles and Transparency

The corresponding author should provide a clear description of the contribution of each author. Where applicable, the journal may use the CRediT taxonomy, including conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, writing (original draft), writing (review and editing), supervision, and project administration.

Contribution statements must describe actual work performed and must not be used to justify honorary or guest authorship. All eligible contributors should receive appropriate recognition.

Author Order and Corresponding Author

The authors should agree on the author list and order before submission, and confirm the accuracy of names, affiliations, and contact details. The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial office, coordinating coauthor approvals, responding to editorial requests, and facilitating reasonable follow-up after publication. Corresponding authorship does not remove the responsibilities of other listed authors.

Acknowledgments and Non-Author Contributors

Individuals who provide funding acquisition, general administrative support, language editing, technical assistance, or other contributions without satisfying all four authorship criteria should be acknowledged rather than listed as authors. Obtain consent from identifiable individuals before naming them in acknowledgments.

Submission Declarations and Editorial Review

At submission, authors should confirm that the authorship list is complete, all authors have approved the submitted version, affiliations and contribution statements are accurate, and relevant conflicts of interest have been disclosed. Suspected ghost, gift, or coerced authorship may be examined according to the journal’s research integrity procedures and applicable ethical guidance.
