Pengembangan Taman Urban Farming Melalui Budidaya Sayuran Organik Di Kelurahan Sukun Kota Malang

Abstract

The urban area of Malang has had most of its land converted to housing or industry, resulting in less agricultural land. Urban Farming is one of the efforts so that the area or environment that applies can meet its needs without taking or buying from outside. Malang City has one of the Urban Farming parks located in Sukun Village, namely Taman Wallet. This park is a park that is used as a place for organic vegetable cultivation, but its condition is not well managed and is abandoned. The purpose of this community service is to realize a sustainable Urban Farming Park. This Urban Farming Park in Wallet can be planted with various vegetable commodities that can be utilized by the surrounding community. The method of implementing community service includes interviews, observations, discussions, and practices ranging from preparation to post-harvest cultivation of organic vegetables and TOGA.  The service begins with cleaning the garden of garbage and leaves, then sorting polybags that can still be used and given additional planting media. After that, they will be given fertilizer and loosened so that nutrients can be evenly distributed on the planting media. The next activity is planting green spinach and kale; watering activities are carried out at different times: spinach plants will be watered after planting, while kale will be watered before planting. Another activity carried out is the improvement of facilities and decorations in the vegetable garden, such as repairing information boards. This service activity is carried out until the vegetable harvest period. This activity is expected to help the community increase their daily vegetable consumption
