Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript to NEWTON: Networking and Information Technology, authors should carefully review the following checklist to ensure that the manuscript meets the journal's scientific, ethical, and technical requirements. Completing these checks can help prevent administrative delays and facilitate a more efficient editorial and peer-review process.
Authors should confirm the following:
- Journal Scope: The manuscript is relevant to the aims and scope of NEWTON: Networking and Information Technology and presents a clear contribution to networking, information technology, or related emerging technologies.
- Originality: The manuscript represents original work and has not been previously published or submitted for consideration to another journal.
- Authorship: All listed authors have made substantial contributions to the research, have reviewed the manuscript, and have approved its submission.
- Title and Abstract: The title accurately represents the study, and the abstract clearly summarizes the research problem, objectives, methods, principal findings, and conclusions.
- Keywords: Three to six relevant keywords have been provided and appropriately represent the main topics of the manuscript.
- Manuscript Structure: The manuscript follows the recommended structure and presents the research in a logical and coherent sequence.
- Methodology: The research methods, datasets, experimental procedures, algorithms, models, and evaluation techniques are described with sufficient detail to support scientific assessment and reproducibility.
- Results and Discussion: Results are presented clearly, supported by appropriate evidence, and critically discussed in relation to previous research.
- Tables and Figures: All tables and figures are clearly labeled, numbered consecutively, referenced in the text, and presented at an appropriate resolution.
- References: All cited sources appear in the reference list, all listed references are cited in the manuscript, and the references are relevant and consistently formatted.
- Research Ethics: Appropriate ethical approval, informed consent, or other required ethical documentation has been obtained and reported where applicable.
- Data and Reproducibility: Data, source code, algorithms, software configurations, or supplementary materials are adequately documented and made available where appropriate and permissible.
- Funding: All sources of financial support for the research have been disclosed.
- Conflict of Interest: Any actual or potential conflict of interest has been declared. If none exists, an appropriate declaration has been included.
- Acknowledgments: Individuals, institutions, or organizations that provided significant support but do not qualify for authorship have been appropriately acknowledged.
- Artificial Intelligence Disclosure: Any substantive use of generative AI or other AI-assisted tools in manuscript preparation has been disclosed when required, and the authors retain full responsibility for the submitted content.
- Language and Presentation: The manuscript has been carefully checked for grammar, clarity, consistency, terminology, and academic writing quality.
- Plagiarism and Research Integrity: The manuscript contains no plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, falsified results, or inappropriate manipulation of research materials.
- Submission Files: All required files, including the manuscript and supplementary materials where applicable, are complete and ready for submission.
- Final Approval: The corresponding author has obtained approval from all co-authors for the final version of the manuscript and its submission to NEWTON: Networking and Information Technology.
Authors are encouraged to complete this checklist before uploading their manuscript. Submission of a manuscript indicates that the authors have reviewed and complied with the journal's policies and requirements. Failure to meet essential requirements may result in the manuscript being returned to the authors for correction before entering the peer-review process.
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Copyright Notice
Authors publishing in NEWTON: Networking and Information Technology retain appropriate rights to their scholarly work while granting the journal the necessary rights to publish, distribute, archive, and make the article available to the academic community in accordance with the journal's publishing policy.
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that they are authorized to grant the required publication rights and that the submitted work is original, has not been previously published in substantially the same form, and does not infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
Author Rights
Authors retain the right to use their published work for legitimate academic and scholarly purposes, subject to the applicable license and the journal's copyright policy. Such uses may include:
- Sharing the published article for academic and research purposes.
- Using the work as part of a thesis, dissertation, or academic portfolio.
- Including the article in institutional repositories where permitted.
