The research was conducted in a madrasah involving a biology teacher and 24 tenth-grade students as respondents. The method used is descriptive with qualitative and quantitative approaches through interviews and questionnaires. The results of the questionnaire showed that, in general, the competence of biology teachers with inappropriate educational backgrounds was considered quite good by students, with an average percentage of 72.9% in the good category. However, it was found that there was a tendency that students to feel more helped, motivated, and understand the material better when learning was carried out by teachers who had a background in biology education. Teachers with appropriate educational backgrounds are considered superior in terms of mastery of materials, implementation of practicums, the use of teaching aids, and learning approaches that are relevant to the characteristics of science. These findings show the importance of the suitability of teachers' educational backgrounds to the subjects taught, especially in concept-based and practice-based learning. Even if teachers with inappropriate backgrounds still show proper competence, continuous professional development efforts are needed to improve the quality of equal learning.</p> 2025-10-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 SCHOOLAR: Social and Literature Study in Education https://ejournal.unwaha.ac.id/index.php/jurnal_pengabdian/article/view/5878 Implementation Of Problem-Based Learning To Improve Student Learning Outcomes 2025-06-08T07:01:46+00:00 Siti Sukowati Wanafaktu miruki mirukie25@gmail.com M. This study aims to develop and validate interactive learning media based on the Canva application for the topic of Dynamic Electricity. Physics learning in secondary schools is still hampered by the dominance of conventional methods and the use of static, non-interactive media, resulting in low student engagement and weak conceptual understanding, especially in dynamic electricity materials. The media is designed to visualize abstract concepts such as current, voltage, resistance, and Ohm's Law to make them easier for students to understand. This research is a research and development study referring to the development model proposed by Borg and Gall. Validation was carried out by material experts, media experts, and linguists. The validation results indicate that the media is considered very valid and feasible for use, with eligibility criteria including content, accuracy, design, and language use. Thus, this media has the potential to increase student motivation and understanding. However, this research is still limited to the validation stage; therefore, further classroom trials are needed to measure its effectiveness.</p> 2025-10-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 SCHOOLAR: Social and Literature Study in Education https://ejournal.unwaha.ac.id/index.php/jurnal_pengabdian/article/view/6046 Development of Booklet on Medicinal Plant Diversity As A Learning Medium 2025-07-16T10:23:57+00:00 Fatikhatun Nikmatus Sholihah faiha.achmad@unwaha.ac.id Anggun Wulandari anggun.4w@gmail.com Niken Koeswara Putri nikenkoeswara@gmail.com <p class="5ABSTRAK">Learning in the classroom with less varied media causes students to tend to be bored in the learning process in the classroom.
