The method used is a pre-experiment with a pretest-posttest design on a single group, involving eleventh-grade students as the sample. Data was collected through a science literacy test that measured students' understanding of optical material before and after using the STEMQ-based e-module. The results showed that the use of the STEMQ-based e-module can improve students' science literacy, particularly in understanding scientific concepts related to optical material. Additionally, the integration of Qur'anic values into the e-module had a positive impact on strengthening students' religious character, supporting holistic learning. The study also found that while most students showed improvement, there was variation in the results, indicating the need for more attention to students with lower science literacy abilities. Overall, the STEMQ-based e-module was proven effective in improving science literacy in the pesantren environment and can serve as a relevant learning medium for 21st-century educational needs. This study contributes to the development of STEM-based learning that integrates religious values in pesantren education.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Ibrahim Yusuf Al Farros Suci Prihatiningtyas Ino Angga Putra Novia Ayu Sekar Pertiwi Kartika Wulandari Copyright (c) 2025 APPLICATION: Applied science in Learning Research 2025-02-28 2025-02-28 4 3 84 89 10.32764/application.v4i3.5524 The Influence of Printed Teaching Material on Students’ Cognitive Learning Outcomes https://ejournal.unwaha.ac.id/index.php/application/article/view/5600 <p class="5ABSTRAK"><span lang="EN-US">Printed teaching materials are still relevant to be used as learning resources for students. Through this research we analyze the effect of printed modules on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in plant physiology courses. We used the one-shot case study method involving 12 students taking plant physiology courses in the 2024/2025 academic year. The cognitive learning outcomes used as data are mid-semester and final semester exam scores. Data analysis was carried out by sign test. The significance level used is 5%, H0 is rejected if the calculated value is smaller than the table value. H0 in this research is that there is no effect of using printed modules on student cognitive learning outcomes. The sign test results show that the calculated h value is greater than the table h value, so H0 is accepted. The use of printed modules did not affect students’ cognitive learning outcomes in this study.</span></p> Mucharommah Sartika Ami Mucharommah Dewi Aminah Copyright (c) 2025 APPLICATION: Applied science in Learning Research 2025-02-28 2025-02-28 4 3 90 93 10.32764/application.v4i3.5600 Missouri Mathematics Project Integrated with Culture: a Solution to Enhance Student Learning Motivation https://ejournal.unwaha.ac.id/index.php/application/article/view/5592 <p>This research aims to analyze the use of the Missouri Mathematics Project learning model integrated with culture in enhancing learning motivation. The instruments used in this study are teaching modules, Jombangan batik projects, tests, and questionnaires. The subjects of the research were 32 students from SMPN 2 Perak. The research results show that Missouri Mathematics Project learning integrated with culture has a positive impact on increasing students' learning motivation. The conclusion is based on the results of the pre-test and post-test T-tests, where the significant value obtained, 0.000, is smaller than the error margin used, which is 0.05. The test results also showed high scores as a sign of increased student learning motivation.</p> Ali Syaifudin Fitri Umardiyah M. This study used a mixed-methods approach, and data were collected from 26 male students through an English speaking test, observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in students' speaking skill, though the effectiveness was limited by technical challenges such as unstable internet and noise in the classroom. Students preferred a blend of AI tools and traditional teaching methods. The study highlighted the potential of SmallTalk2Me in enhancing English speaking but recommended addressing infrastructure issues and incorporating longer implementation periods. Further research was suggested to focus on the long-term impact of AI-powered tools in language learning.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Keywords</strong>: SmallTalk2Me; AI; Speaking Skill; The Effect.</p> Catur Wicaksono Nurul Afidah Iin Baroroh Ma'arif Ulfa Wulan Agustina Copyright (c) 2025 APPLICATION: Applied science in Learning Research 2025-02-28 2025-02-28 4 3 101 107 10.32764/application.v4i3.5578 Wordwall Learning Media to Increase Student Concept Understanding in Islamic Age Education Lessons at SMK NU Al-Hidayah Ngimbang https://ejournal.unwaha.ac.id/index.php/application/article/view/5528 <p class="5ABSTRAK">This study investigates the use of Wordwall as an interactive learning medium to enhance students’ conceptual understanding in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMK NU Al-Hidayah Ngimbang. The research employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, involving 30 eleventh-grade students. Data collection was conducted through pretest and posttest assessments to measure changes in conceptual understanding. Before using Wordwall, the average pretest score was 56.7, indicating low conceptual understanding. Following the integration of Wordwall, the average posttest score significantly increased to 86.7, with an average N-Gain of 0.66, categorized as medium. The interactive and gamified nature of Wordwall is attributed to this improvement, as it fosters student engagement and provides immediate feedback, supporting active learning. The findings highlight the potential of Wordwall to enhance learning outcomes in PAI by addressing students' diverse learning needs and improving motivation and comprehension. This study provides practical implications for educators seeking to implement innovative, technology-based learning solutions in vocational schools to improve conceptual understanding and align with the demands of 21st-century education.</p> Chusnul Chotimah Ainin A'isyaturrohmah Suci Prihatiningtyas Asiyah Lu'Lu'ul Husna Copyright (c) 2025 APPLICATION: Applied science in Learning Research 2025-02-28 2025-02-28 4 3 108 112 10.32764/application.v4i3.5528 Development of Preserved Resin Specimen of Arthropod Fauna Blocks as a Media for Biology Learning https://ejournal.unwaha.ac.id/index.php/application/article/view/5623 <p>Specimen preservation is an effort to maintain the original condition of living creatures so that they can be used for educational and research purposes. There are two ways of preserving, namely wet preservation and dry preservation. This research aims to determine the feasibility of preserved specimens of arthropod fauna block resin as a biology learning medium and to determine students' responses to arthropod fauna block resin preserved specimens as a biology learning medium. The development model carried out in this research is a 4D development model with development procedures including the stages of define, design, develop and disseminate. The trial involved class X MIPA 1 students as test subjects. Data obtained from material experts, media experts, and students were analyzed descriptively to evaluate the suitability of learning media. The feasibility results for preserved resin block specimens of arthropod fauna from material expert validation results were 77.8% with good criteria. In comparison, for media expert validation results the percentage was 88.8% with excellent criteria. Meanwhile, data from student responses, and learning media in the form of preserved specimens of resin blocks of arthropod fauna, received very interesting criteria with a percentage of 92%. This research is expected to produce preserved specimens of resin blocks of arthropod fauna that are suitable for use as biology learning media, by the needs of students and technological developments in the world of education.</p> Anggun Wulandari Siti Nur Venes Andrea Copyright (c) 2025 APPLICATION: Applied science in Learning Research 2025-02-28 2025-02-28 4 3 113 120 10.32764/application.v4i3.5623
